P.S. Kanye, I really was not kidding in that instagram…..
P.P.S. Shout out to my boyfriend for Valentines day. Even though you didn't surprise me with Yeezy Boosts, I love you more than life.
Just incase you have been cut off from civilization for a few weeks, you should know that Adidas is getting so hot right now. Adidas was born in Germany and gained popularity from footballers as well as runners in the Olympics. It did not really blow up in American pop culture until Run DMC began wearing brand head to toe (literally). The brand began to lose momentum in the early 90’s when the hip-hop culture turned to Jordans as their shoe of choice (looking at you, Michael). As of late, Adidas has made some very big moves and made some very big famous friends such as Pharrell, who sported a full Adidas look on the Grammy Awards Red Carpet last week, and David Beckham who is just a total B-A-B-E. As we have seen over and over again, once you get the right celebrities on your side, you have the power to bring your brand back from the dead (unless you are myspace… Sorry JT… nobody is ever going back there). The person I am really trying to get to is Adidas’s latest endorser, everybody’s favorite ‘fashionisto’ (if you will), Kanye West. That’s right people, Kanye West has partnered with the brand to create the Adidas Yeezy Boost. Kanye held a private fashion show to reveal his masterpiece this past Thursday. Attendees of the show were a collection of Kanye’s closest friends such as Anna Wintour (I repeat, ANNA WINTOUR), Beyonce, Jay-Z, North and a good portion of the Kardashian clan. Also, because Kanye never does anything half way (especially not insults), he released a new song to top off this epic shoe release. Side note: guess who is front and center in a portion of the show... our very own lip game princess, Kylie Jenner. See if you can spot her: To be honest I was for the most part, uninterested in Kanye’s newest endeavor – until I saw them on Kylie Jenner’s feet. I am unaware of the exact moment I knew I would die for a pair of these shoes, however I am now fully aware not only of these shoes, but that I would move water and earth to get my hands on a pair of these babies. Call me dramatic, I don’t care. When I am strutting around town with Yeezys on my feet, the joke is going to be on you my friend. This morning 9,000 pairs of Yeezy Boosts were released for sale to the general public at a retail price of $350. If you share my intense need to land a pair of these shoes, Gods Speed. If you don't, I refuse to be seen with you in public ever again.
Xoxo, The Don

I have to say, as much as hollywood “showed out” for the SAG awards a few weeks ago, I was slightly under whelmed by the Grammy Awards red carpet this year. None-the-less I was pleasantly surprised by my number one pick for the night, Nicki Minaj. Normally Nicki goes for something a little more off the wall, but she went with sleek hair and a stunning Tom Ford gown with a plunging neckline. All I have to say is that it was really working for me. She truly looked like a class act last night and my jaw is still sitting on my living room floor. Nicki Minaj at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards wearing Tom Ford Next best was Pharrell Williams in head-to-toe Adidas. Pharrell showed up in one of his staple styles, the short suit. The cool thing about his suit last night was that when photographed, it changed color (photo of Pharrell’s red carpet look, with and without flash, below). I typically am not a huge fan of the short suit look but I am a sucker for a cool textile trick. Pharrell Williams at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards wearing Adidas Third favorite was Gwen Stefani in Versace. Gwen has been one of my all time favorite famous humans all the way back to the No Doubt, pink hair days. After all, I’m just a Girl… Beyonce obviously showed up looking fabulous however so far, it seems that she was mums the word on who she was wearing because there was not a trace of a designer label attached to her look for quite some time into the evening. Luckily, you have stumbled across a very monotonous perfectionist who started a blog. So I am here to tell you that Beyonce was wearing Proenza Schouler. The most exciting part of the red carpet arrived right as things were winding down and people were going inside to find their seats. Rihanna popped out of a dark SUV wearing the most fabulous, fluffy 'so not Rihanna' gown. The best part were the images of Cinderella racing the clock to get home before the stroke of midnight that began running through my head as she dashed across the red carpet. It was truly a wonderful, un-scripted fashion moment. She did stop briefly to chat with Ryan Seacrest of E! to tell him that she was wearing Giambattista Valli, that she saw the dress on the runway and absolutely had to wear it. Then just like a dream, se was whisked inside to find her seat before the real show started. Now, I have had very mixed feelings about Rihanna over the past year, especially after her association with the Beyonce/Jay Z split rumors (rumors for the record, that I steadfastly denied to everyone who would listen), but the moment that she created last night (along with her new associations with my #1, Leonardo DiCaprio) have me re-thinking this whole Rihanna thing. Dare I say it, I might even like her now. Xoxo, The Don
