Skin : Lemon juice can act as a pain reliever for things like sun burn and bee stings. It is also a natural detoxifier, so it will help with acne and eczema too. Drinking lemon juice with water and honey each day will supercharge your skin leaving you with a natural glow (which is a spring beauty trend, incase you have been paying zero attention to my blog lately).
Dental : You would think that such an acidic fruit would not be so great on your teeth right? Wrong! It is not incredibly uncommon to find lemon juice in toothpaste. It is used as a cleanser for your teeth, curing odors from gum disease and even known to stop gum bleeding.
Digestion : Everyone knows that poor digestion makes for a serious struggle. Lemon contains citric acid which interacts with other enzymes and acids in your body and (to spare you the intimate details) long story short, it helps you go. Also, because lemon is an antioxidant, it helps promote a higher metabolism – who doesn’t love that part, right?
Colds : Lemon is rich with Vitamin C, not to mention a natural anti-inflammatory so it will help with upper respiratory infections, sore throats and the common cold. It can also create an alkalizing effect in the body, which promotes higher pH levels. The higher the pH level, the easier it is for your body to fight diseases.
Heart Health / Anti Cancer : Cayenne pepper helps to keep blood pressure levels normalized. It also has been speculated that cayenne may help prevent lung cancer in smokers as well as promote a resistance to liver tumors.
Migraine Prevention : It may be because the spiciness of the pepper is calling attention to a new site within the body which reverts the brain’s attention off of your headache, but cayenne has been known to lessen migraine pain.
Anti – Allergen : Cayenne is a well known anti-allergen and has been attributed to relieving allergies.
