Last week, the intense winter snow storm that has been raging on the upper east coast finally made its way to Ohio. Lucky us. I am aware that our storm is actually a whole different thing than the one that has been handing out adult snow days left and right to my cousins up in Boston, but you know what I mean. On the plus side, the snow was so bad most of the tri-state area got a snow day (or at least a half snow day). What did I do on my half snow day you ask? It just so happened to be Fashion Week in my favorite city on earth, so naturally I spent the afternoon stalking my favorite street style photog, Tommy Ton on the internet. Tommy Ton is featured on Style.com rather often, snapping some of the best street style looks ever to be seen. His best shots obviously come during fashion events, so it was just a happy coincidence that it was freezing cold during fashion week on the same day that I was off work searching for a little snowy street style inspo. What I learned: Judging from some of the outfits (or lack there of – lots of exposed skin), it is definitely true what they say. Beauty is pain and you make sacrifices to look fabulous. Some of these looks shocked me (how could you honestly be rocking a leather mini skirt in the SNOW?!), but mainly everything that I saw just made me crave designer labels… and large mug of hot chocolate. Here are some of my favorite looks that the it-girls and the fashion crowd were rocking up in New York City last week:

If you live anywhere from the mid west to the northeast region of America you understand the intense arctic temperatures that have been ever so present in our lives. Maybe I am being dramatic, maybe not. Depends who you ask. What I know is that in addition to the fading memory of what 80 degrees and sunny feels like, this weather is reeking havoc on my skin. From cracked hands to a completely dried out T-zone, things are looking pretty grim. If you are having the same terrible experience you are in luck, because I have found a fabulous moisturizing scrub courtesy of none other than Blake Lively’s new(ish) lifestyle website. After all the hype leading up to the launch, this site was not quite what we expected to see from Blake Lively in fact it got very mixed reviews in the first few weeks after it went live. Thanks to Blake Lively finally gracing instagram with her presence, I have been following the site and loving everything I see on it. Featuring all American made goods to small town artists to awesome recipes to holistic, all natural beauty remedies, this site has it all. Which leads me to my recent discovery of the all natural scrub that you can make with things you probably already have in your kitchen – even if you don’t, a quick run to fresh market will fix that. Blueberry Body Scrub What You’ll Need:
Directions:
Scrub will keep in the fridge for about a week. If the temperature in the fridge hardens the oils, just leave it out on the counter for a few minutes before use and you should be good. Benefits
Preserve offers up this all-natural scrub as a body scrub, but as you can see on instagram, I tried it on my face too and it worked like a dream. Try it, don’t try it, it’s your life and your sad, dry skin. I’ll be over here looking fab.
